RED DOG POKER RULES
The game itself is played at a table, like most other card games. The table is marked with two betting spots: the bet and the raise. The dealer will give you two cards after you place your bet. The point of the game is to guess if the 3rd card will be in between the two cards already dealt. The suit of the cards is not a factor in red dog poker. For example, if you are dealt a 4 and a jack, the third card has to be a 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 in order for you to win.
Unlike blackjack, where face cards are all worth 10 points and aces are one or 11, in red dog poker the jack is 11, the queen is 12, the king is 13 and the ace is 14. If you are dealt two consecutive cards, say a 7 and an 8, the bet is over and you get your wager back. If you get a pair, say 2 5's, you cannot wager but if you are dealt a third 5, you get a payout of 11:1.
How much you are paid in red dog poker determines how much money you win. In the example given above, when you are dealt a jack and a 4, there are 6 card values that you can get and still win (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10). This is an even 1:1 payout. However, if you are dealt a 4 and a 6, there is only 1 number you could get and win so the payout in that instance would be 5:1.
